External Project Quality Specialist

The key purpose of this role is be a Subject Matter Expert in Project Quality supporting the Africa Zone, Project and Zitec teams in ensuring the governance of Quality and Food Safety requirements during the commercialization projects.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Significant travel across Rest of Africa markets with accountability for governance and operational oversight of third party co-packers producing AB InBev brands.
• Supplier audits to verify adherence to food and safety regulatory standards.
• Ensure governance to compliance of the Quality Export/Import Policy  
• Ensure compliance to the quality standards on all New Product, Co Packing and Cross Brewing projects
• Plan and coordinate quality activities to ensure projects meet the requirements of the VPO Quality Pillar
• Ensure the implementation of the quality requirements according to project schedules
• Validate and review project quality facilities to expand in general including:

   - Requirements of Food Safety

      - Facilities and equipment accreditation or installation for laboratories or facilities

• Monitor the implementation of project quality requirements
• Develop budget worksheets for projects as well as plan resources to receive technical support from quality during the start up and go live of projects
• Quarantine management of product governance during commercial phase
• Ensure updated technology and to propose continuous improvements to achieve better results; use the PDCA method for preparing and reviewing quality specifications, adding learning and updates to requirements
• Monitor compliance to new product release protocol during the commercialisation phase as well as monitor the adherence to the Global Import/Export Quality Policy
• VPO Quality Pillar, facilities and equipment of laboratories, requirements of quality drivers
• Basic knowledge of process equipment, beer, soft drinks and bottling lines.
• Knowledge of the procurement and supplier management flow.
• Capability to communicate relevant aspects of Quality Assurance
• Strong organizational, negotiation, interpersonal skills and sense of urgency.
• Good knowledge of the import/export quality policy
• Travel across Rest of Africa markets with accountability for governance and operational oversight of third party co-packers producing Ab InBev Brands
• Complete supplier audits to verify adherence to food and safety regulatory standards.
• Audit adherence to quality requirements during project commercialisation

Minimum requirements

• Tertiary educated Science Graduate (Minimum Degree or B-tech) with a passion for quality assurance coupled with at least 5 years experience in Food Safety and Quality Assurance
• Knowledge of brewing, quality, packaging and food safety management systems and processes
• Have expertise in area of quality or processes in the beverage production unit for at least 5 years
• Exposure to analytical technologies.
• Quality Systems Auditing experience
• Food safety training
• Budget setting
