Financial Close Project Manager

MAIN PURPOSE

• The opportunity is within the SIPPs department of NOA, which is responsible (among others) for sourcing projects for NOA to commercialise on its own balance sheet. NOA Trading aggregates energy from numerous power producers and sells that energy to private sector offtakers. The role would require the successful incumbent to take full ownership for the project management and coordination of Renewable Energy projects from “grid reservation” through to financial close (working extensively with internal and external support).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Take on overall project ownership after it has reached a “ready for commercialization” state (typically once grid capacity has been reserved).


• Work with stakeholders to define a commercialization strategy (potentially across multiple projects in a cluster).


• Develop a project plan that coordinates all necessary role players to reach Financial Close on the project within an agreed timeframe.


• Play a leadership role and take ultimate responsibility for bringing this project plan to fruition, with support from:

• Identify project risks and opportunities and lead mitigation strategies.
  


• Serve as the central point of communication for internal and external stakeholders (including the Project SteerCom and NOA Investment Committee).


• Ensure a smooth transition from development to construction by handing over a fully de-risked project.
  Ensure all project documents, approvals, compliance requirements, and reports are maintained per corporate governance.


• Track project KPIs, schedule, critical risks, and budget alignment.

POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

• Appropriate qualification in Engineering, Law, Development, Business or Finance.

Experience:

• Must have 5-10 years' experience in the Renewable Energy space.


• Proven experience in leading projects to Financial Close is essential.


• While deep expertise is not required, familiarity with any (or all) of the following will be valuable:

Industry knowledge, technical competence and skills:

• Above average commercial awareness within the renewable industry advantageous


• Knowledge of the IPP market, projects, and developments with existing relationships

• Strong Project Management skills are required
