We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Manager to join our growing team in the Fibre Infrastructure industry based in Roodepoort. The ideal candidate is a qualified CA(SA) with solid experience in taxation, financial control implementation, and fundraising, and must have prior exposure to the Fibre Optics or Telecommunications sector. Proficiency in Xero Accounting Software is essential. This role plays a critical part in driving financial governance and supporting strategic infrastructure expansion.
Financial Management & Controls
Develop, implement, and continuously improve robust financial controls tailored to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including management accounts, project costings, and forecasts.
Oversee budgeting and cost control processes, ensuring alignment with fibre network rollout strategies and project timelines.
Monitor cash flow and working capital to support capex-intensive deployments and operational needs.
Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process efficiently.
Taxation Compliance & Strategy
Manage all taxation responsibilities including VAT, corporate income tax, PAYE, and SARS engagements.
Ensure full compliance with tax legislation, particularly in areas relating to construction, capital projects, and asset depreciation.
Provide strategic tax planning and risk mitigation advice to the executive team.
Stay current with tax legislation affecting infrastructure, PPPs, and telecoms operations.
System Management – Xero Accounting
Maintain accurate and compliant financial records using Xero Accounting Software.
Leverage Xero functionality to streamline financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
Provide support to finance team members on Xero processes and integrations.
Fundraising & Strategic Finance
Support infrastructure expansion through the preparation of financial models and forecasts for fundraising, grants, and investor proposals.
Liaise with banks, development finance institutions, and private equity partners to support capital-raising initiatives.
Assist in structuring funding instruments that are tax-efficient and aligned with long-term fibre asset growth.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
Present financial performance, forecasts, and risk analyses to the Board and investors.
Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure financial alignment with fibre deployment and maintenance projects.
Mentor and develop junior finance staff where applicable.
Requirements
Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) – required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in the Fibre Optics, Telecommunications, or Infrastructure sector.
Proven taxation expertise and experience in compliance with South African tax regulations.
Demonstrated experience using Xero Accounting Software – certification preferred.
Strong background in financial controls, project costing, and capital expenditure management.
Track record in fundraising, debt structuring, or investor relations is advantageous.
