Fine Dining Waiter / Front of house Host / Hostess

Contract role - Cape Winelands area

We are looking for friendly, reliable casual waiters or waitresses to give our clients guests great service. You should enjoy working with people, stay calm under pressure and have a positive attitude.

What we need from you:

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• Preferably at least 2 year of waiter/waitress experience.

• Experience in fine dining establishment / restaurant (4 or 5 star rated)

• Experience with a cash register and/or ordering system.

• Basic maths skills.

• Good communication and people skills.

• Strong customer service skills and good listening skills.

• Patience and attention to detail when serving customers.

• Comfortable serving high-profile or distinguished guests.

• Well-groomed and well-presented.

• Flexible and responsible.

• Enthusiastic and friendly personality.

• Own or reliable transport.

What you will do:

• Welcome guests at their tables and give them menus and wine lists.

• Know whats on the menu, including the basic ingredients and how dishes are prepared.

• Make sure tables are properly set with clean tablecloths, cutlery, glasses and napkins.

• Take food and drink orders accurately using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and make sure orders reach the kitchen and bar quickly.

• Serve food and drinks within the time limits.

• Clear used plates, glasses and cutlery from tables promptly.

• Offer desserts and coffee after the main meal.

• Prepare and present bills correctly to guests.

• Keep the restaurant area, furniture and equipment clean and hygienic.

• Maintain high personal hygiene and a neat, clean uniform at all times.
