Freelance Copywriter Hybrid JHB 2-Week Contract R30,000 Project Fee

We are looking for an experienced freelance Copywriter for a two-week project starting on 1 October 2026.

This is a Johannesburg-based hybrid role operating on a 4:1 model: four days on-site and one day remote per week.

The Copywriter will be responsible for developing strong creative concepts and producing clear, engaging copy across the required campaign deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative concepts and campaign ideas in response to the brief.
  
• Write clear, engaging and brand-appropriate copy.
  
• Produce headlines, campaign messaging, scripts and supporting copy across relevant channels.
  
• Translate strategic objectives into compelling creative communication.
  
• Collaborate closely with Art Directors, designers and other project stakeholders.
  
• Maintain a consistent tone of voice across all deliverables.
  
• Present and explain creative concepts to internal and client teams.
  
• Respond constructively to feedback and manage revisions within the project timeline.
  
• Proofread and edit copy before final delivery.
  

Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a conceptual Copywriter.
  
• Strong conceptual thinking, writing and storytelling skills.
  
• Experience developing campaign copy across multiple channels.
  
• Excellent command of English, grammar and spelling.
  
• Ability to work independently and deliver under tight deadlines.
  
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
  
• A portfolio demonstrating relevant conceptual and campaign work.
  
• Must be based in Johannesburg and available for the hybrid 4:1 model.
  
• Must be available for the full two-week contract.
