Freelance Print & Digital Production Manager / Producer

We are looking for an experienced Print and Digital Production Manager / Producer to support a fast-paced agency team during an upcoming launch period.

This is a through-the-line production role covering both digital outputs and bespoke print production. The successful freelancer must be commercially and technically experienced and able to manage projects from initial briefing and costing through to final production and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Review production briefs and recommend the most appropriate production processes and solutions
  
• Prepare accurate production quotations and manage budgets
  
• Source, brief and select suitable suppliers for print and digital outputs
  
• Manage bespoke print specifications, materials, finishes and manufacturing requirements
  
• Coordinate sample manufacturing and prototype requests
  
• Conduct supplier and production-site visits where required
  
• Check work in progress and ensure production meets the approved specifications
  
• Manage production schedules, quality control and delivery requirements
  
• Review and coordinate proofs, samples and final approvals
  
• Liaise with creative, client service and project management teams
  
• Manage relationships with external suppliers and production partners
  
• Identify potential production, timing, quality and cost risks
  
• Recommend practical solutions to keep projects on time and within budget
  
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced agency environment
  

Requirements

Proven experience as a Print and Digital Production Manager, Producer or similar

Strong experience across both print and digital production

Thorough understanding of bespoke print processes, materials, finishes and manufacturing

Strong supplier sourcing, briefing and management experience

Excellent production costing and budget-management skills

Experience managing projects from briefing through to final delivery

Strong knowledge of proofing, sampling, quality control and production approvals

Commercially minded with strong attention to detail

Able to identify risks and resolve production challenges proactively

Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills

Comfortable working independently and as part of a broader agency team

Available from approximately mid-August to mid-October

Able to work in a hybrid model and attend supplier or production-site visits when required
