Job Description - French Speaking Sales/ Business Development Representative

The SDR or BDR creates qualified sales opportunities for international clients. The role combines outbound prospecting, structured discovery, lead qualification, accurate CRM administration and disciplined follow-up.

Depending on the campaign, the candidate may generate top-of-funnel engagement, Marketing Qualified Leads, BANT-qualified leads or Sales Qualified Leads and booked meetings.

Language Proficiency Requirements

  • Fluent or near-native French plus strong spoken and written English.
  • Candidates must be able to conduct discovery, and qualification calls in both languages.

Core responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound prospecting by telephone, email and, where required, LinkedIn to engage decisionmakers and buying committee members.
  • Open conversations professionally, establish relevance and use consultative questioning to understand the prospect's current situation, challenges, priorities and buying process.
  • Generate and qualify leads across the funnel, including top-of-funnel leads, MQLs, BANT-qualified leads and SQLs, in line with each client's campaign criteria.
  • Identify decisionmakers, influencers, champions and other stakeholders involved in software, technology, hardware or business-service purchasing decisions.
  • Book qualified meetings or hand over sales-ready opportunities with complete, accurate notes and agreed next steps.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, disposition every interaction correctly and complete follow-up activity within campaign timelines.
  • Meet agreed activity, quality, conversion, attendance and delivery targets while complying with scripts, data rules, suppression lists and client requirements.
  • Participate in coaching, call calibration, quality assurance and campaign training, and demonstrate that feedback is applied on live calls
  • Represent our client and its international clients with professionalism, resilience, integrity and cultural awareness.

Essential candidate requirements

  • Relevant SDR, BDR, tele sales, appointment-setting, lead-generation or B2B customer engagement experience.
  • Demonstrable experience generating or qualifying B2B leads and an understanding of how prospects progress from initial engagement to MQL, BANT and SQL stages.
  • Strong telephone presence, active listening, objection handling and discovery-questioning skills.
  • Clear, concise written communication and the ability to produce accurate prospect and opportunity notes.
  • Comfort working with targets, quality scorecards, conversion measures and daily activity expectations.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work the applicable shift consistently in South African Standard Time.
  • Confident use of CRM systems, email, online meeting platforms and standard workplace technology.
  • A professional, quiet and focused approach suited to international client campaigns.

Preferred experience

  • Experience prospecting into Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe or other international markets.
  • Technology, SaaS, IT services, hardware, software, professional services or complex B2B campaign exposure.
  • Experience working with personas at manager, director, head-of-department, C-suite or buying-committee level.
  • Familiarity with BANT or comparable qualification frameworks and with top, middle and bottom-of-funnel lead generation.
  • Evidence of consistent appointment-setting, lead-quality or sales-pipeline performance.

Working hours and shift fit

  • Candidates can be allocated to either the Australian or United Kingdom campaigns.
  • Working hours in SAST for Australian Campaign 00:00-10:00
  • Working hours in SAST for United Kingdom 09:00-19:00
  • Exact scheduled hours may be campaign dependent within the stated range.

Remuneration

  • The salary band is R8 000 to R25 000 per month plus commission.
  • The final offer is dependent on the candidate's relevant experience, language capability, demonstrated B2B marketing and sales competence, and performance during the international client interview process.
