Front-End Developer

We are a leading e-commerce, shipping, and payment service in South Africa seeking a skilled Front-End Developer with over 5 years of experience. You will develop and enhance user-facing features using modern technologies, working on a robust tech stack that includes React with Tailwind CSS. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, is capable of working independently on complex features, and mentors less experienced team members where possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• UI Development: Create, optimize, and maintain high-quality user interfaces using React and Tailwind CSS.

• Collaboration: Work closely with back-end teams and UX/UI designers to integrate and enhance features.

• Independent Ownership: Take responsibility for large, complex featuresensuring they pass most testing/verification steps in the first round.

• Mentorship: Mentor and support junior developers, fostering a collaborative team environment.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure code meets the highest standards; participate in and contribute to code reviews.

• Problem Solving: Proactively identify issues, determine and fix root causes, and suggest improvements.

• Design & Architecture: Actively contribute to design discussions, propose innovative solutions, and consult seniors/leads for architectural decisions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years in front-end development.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in React and experience using Tailwind CSS.

  • Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration processes.

  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.

• Soft Skills:

  • Capable of working independently on complex features.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

  • Excellent communication with a collaborative mindset.

  • Able to mentor junior team members and contribute significantly to code reviews.
