Location: Khanye Colliery, Bronkhorstspruit

Canyon Coal is seeking to appoint a reliable and hard-working General Worker to support day-to-day operational and maintenance tasks at our Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit. The successful candidate will be responsible for general duties across the mine site, contributing to site cleanliness, maintenance, and safe operational practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Install safety and directional signage around the mine premises.
  

• Perform basic repair work and assist with general building maintenance.
  

• Maintain cleanliness in and around the main plant area and associated offices.
  

• Assist with plumbing tasks and basic construction work across the site.
  

• Clean trenches, remove waste, and contribute to general upkeep.
  

• Cut grass and maintain vegetation in operational zones.
  

• Assist in securing tarpaulins on coal trucks exiting the mine.
  

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
  

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
  

• General maintenance
  

• Building and plumbing tasks
  

• Mining or industrial environments
  

• Must be medically fit for duty.
  

• No criminal record (absolutely essential).
  

• Understanding of workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
  

Additional Advantages

• Valid driver’s license.
  

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  

• Strong awareness of and commitment to safe work practices.
