ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client provides career-focused education and is transforming how customers discover, choose and purchase training.
The business is developing a digital-first customer journey that combines ecommerce, AI, career data and personalised digital experiences. Customers will increasingly be able to discover potential careers, search live job opportunities, understand salaries and employer demand, complete personalised career and skills gap analyses, interact with an AI sales and career agent, receive personalised training recommendations, purchase directly through Shopify and access ongoing career tools and support.
Historically, much of the business has been generated through leads subsequently converted by sales teams. The business is now developing an ecommerce-led model that allows customers to complete more of this journey digitally, including purchasing further certifications as their careers develop. Australia and New Zealand will initially provide an important test market for this model, with a wider global remit across the business.
THE ROLE: GLOBAL ECOMMERCE & CRO LEAD
The Global Ecommerce & CRO Lead will take commercial ownership of the ecommerce customer journey from landing page through to purchase and subsequent upsell.
The role is focused on turning digital traffic into customers rather than simply maintaining a Shopify store. Ecommerce will sit at the centre of the commercial model, with the role responsible for improving ecommerce revenue, conversion and contribution across the customer journey.
The key commercial objective is to determine whether the business can profitably acquire and convert customers into £1,000–£2,500 / A$1,500–A$3,000 career products through ecommerce without requiring a human salesperson for every transaction.
Success will be measured through ecommerce revenue, conversion rate, CAC, ROAS, checkout completion, cost-to-serve, customer lifetime value and subsequent product purchases, with a focus on revenue and contribution rather than vanity metrics.
