Job Description - Graduate Retail Planner & Merchandising Analyst

About Faithful to Nature

Faithful to Nature is South Africa’s leading natural and conscious retailer, committed to ensuring that the products we consume do not harm people, planet, or communities. We offer a curated range across health, food, body & beauty, and lifestyle categories through our fast-growing online and physical retail channels.

We are part of Silvertree Brands, a purpose-driven group that also includes UCOOK, SKOON., and Pet Heaven.

Role Overview

This role is designed for a high-potential graduate or early-career professional who is passionate about retail, data, technology, and wellness. You will help shape how Faithful to Nature’s retail stores are laid out, stocked, and experienced by customers. You will work at the intersection of data, systems, and physical retail execution, creating planograms, store layouts, and replenishment decisions.

Rather than stepping into a rigid, pre-defined structure, you will be part of a team that is building and evolving retail planning capability from the ground up. This role requires curiosity, independence, and a willingness to experiment, test, learn, and continuously improve how we operate.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is tech-savvy, analytically strong, commercially curious, motivated by impact and growth and has a passion for health and wellness products.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Planograms & Store Layout Support

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve store planograms across all Faithful to Nature retail locations.

  • Add and maintain new products within planograms, ensuring accurate, logical, and customer-friendly placement.

  • Review store layouts to improve customer flow, product visibility, and ease of navigation.

  • Help adapt layouts as ranges evolve, stores scale, and new categories are introduced.

Data & Performance Analysis

  • Analyse store-level sales, space productivity, and product performance data.

  • Identify opportunities to improve space efficiency, availability, and category performance.

  • Support recommendations on space allocation based on data insights rather than intuition alone.

  • Build confidence in using data to inform physical retail decisions.

Stock & Replenishment Support

  • Support store replenishment and stock transfer processes in collaboration with planning and supply chain teams.

  • Help ensure the right products are in the right stores at the right time.

  • Assist with identifying gaps, overstocks, or inefficiencies and proposing improvements.

Systems, Tools & Innovation

  • Work closely with planning and BI teams to learn and use retail systems and tools (including planogram software).

  • Explore how technology, automation, and data can improve retail planning processes.

  • Contribute ideas to simplify, streamline, or redesign existing ways of working.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with category managers, planners, retail teams, and operations.

  • Support store teams in implementing planograms and layout changes.

  • Gather feedback from stores and translate insights into improvements.

Skills & Requirements

  • A degree in Commerce, Business Science, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical ability and comfort working with numbers, data, and spreadsheets.

  • High level of digital and technical curiosity; confidence in learning new systems and tools.

  • Strong commercial awareness and interest in how retail decisions drive performance.

  • Passion for wellness, sustainability, and conscious consumerism.

Previous retail planning experience is not required — mindset and learning ability matter more than years of experience.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly curious with a strong desire to learn and grow.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and building structure where none exists yet.

  • Proactive self-starter who takes ownership rather than waiting for instruction.

  • Energetic, motivated, and eager to make an impact.

  • Able to balance analytical thinking with practical execution.

  • Values-driven and aligned with Faithful to Nature’s purpose and culture.

What We Offer

  • A rare opportunity to help build retail planning capability from the ground up.

  • Exposure to commercial decision-making across buying, planning, and retail operations.

  • A fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with high levels of responsibility early on.

  • Strong mentorship and learning opportunities across the commercial team.

  • Competitive graduate-level package, staff discounts, and group benefits.
