A strategic Risk leadership role to drive a Centrally organised and regional executed credit risk operating model across 14 African countries and Standard Bank Offshore working in partnership with senior Country, regional and BCB business and Credit stakeholders. The operating model includes inter alia the setting of credit risk appetite aligned to strategic portfolio strategies and the development of in country capabilities to decision on credit and provide the necessary account management.
The individual will be appointed to the BCB Risk Executive Committee with the requirement to contribute to the strategic intent of the broader Risk function in BCB and will report to the Chief Risk Officer: BCB.
Three Regional Heads of Credit will report into the incumbent. The role is an office-based role in Johannesburg with the expectation that the individual will travel to markets in which BCB is represented.

More than 10 years
10 years' plus experience, including 5-7 years as a credit operations or portfolio manager in credit. Prior experience with portfolio management, cash flow lending principles, credit workflow management tools and automated decisioning technology recommended. An in-depth experience in building business capabilities in financial institutions, risk management and strategic stakeholder relationships important with the aim of driving Business Strategy to drive better customer outcomes and financial results.
