Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef for a luxury lodge in Hoedspruit.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional with a flair for creating exceptional dining experiences in a luxury safari environment. The successful candidate will oversee all kitchen operations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the lodge kitchen
  


• Design and prepare innovative, seasonal menus
  


• Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation and consistency
  


• Lead, train and develop the kitchen team
  


• Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
  


• Monitor food costs and minimise waste while maintaining quality
  


• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations
  


• Cater for special dietary requirements and guest preferences
  


• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and organisation
  


• Work closely with lodge management to deliver outstanding guest experiences
  

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury lodge, hotel or fine dining environment
  


• Strong leadership and team management skills
  


• Passion for creating high-quality cuisine using fresh ingredients
  


• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  


• Sound knowledge of stock control, food costing and budgeting
  


• Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  


• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  


• Relevant culinary qualification would be advantageous
