Job Description - Head of Commercial - Camps & Lodges




Head of Commercial – Camps & Lodges | Luxury Safari Tours Company | Cape Town


Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Commercial – Camps & Lodges for a prestigious luxury safari tours company based in Cape Town. This senior leadership role requires a commercially astute individual with strong business acumen, deep knowledge of the luxury travel industry, and the ability to drive growth and profitability across a portfolio of safari camps and lodges.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead the commercial strategy for camps and lodges across multiple regions


  • Develop pricing structures, revenue management strategies, and distribution plans


  • Identify and drive new business opportunities and market growth


  • Manage and build strategic trade partnerships with key global travel stakeholders


  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align brand positioning with commercial goals


  • Work closely with operations to ensure commercial initiatives are effectively implemented on the ground


  • Provide input into product development and guest experience strategies


  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge


  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing commercial team


  • Report on commercial performance to executive leadership, with data-driven insights


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Tourism, Marketing, or related field (Master’s degree advantageous)


  • Proven experience in a senior commercial or sales leadership role within the luxury hospitality or travel industry


  • Strong understanding of high-end safari travel markets and guest expectations


  • Excellent commercial insight, financial literacy, and negotiation skills


  • Track record of delivering business growth and exceeding revenue targets


  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment


  • Willingness to travel to remote locations as required
