Applications are invited for theposition of Head of Program Office position to be based in the Cape Town region.
Purpose of the Role: The Head of National Program Office is responsible to achieve the objectives and KPI’s of the Program office that is focussed on entrenching the leadership and management values, culture, systems, principles and best practice (called The Herotel Way) into the behaviour of all managers in Herotel, which will ensure that we continuously improve and innovate and address change effectively.
Key Responsibility Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Objectives:
Document, review and improve The Herotel Way in a concise, simple, well-structured and well-verbalised manner. Train and support managers to understand and implement The Herotel Way in their daily behaviour. Do change- and project management for all large-scale changes and projects in the business. Create a national communication system that clarifies the need for information throughout the business and defines who needs to communicate, what, to who and when.
Components of The Herotel Way:
- Our Playbook - Our Management principles - Our Culture - Our Thinking Processes and TOC pillars - Our Documents. (Design and administrate the National Document Library (NDL) to accommodate all documentation concerning standards, processes, OPL’s and TSG’s as an integral part of all employee activities.)
- Our Tools.
MOS: Ensure the correct and standardised operation of MOS across the business.
TOC: Ensure managers are able to use the thinking processes of CRT, EC, FRT, PRT, TRT.
- Our Continuous Improvement & Innovation. (Create a system to facilitate innovations and improvements as part of MOS. Assisting employees with a process so they can make things easier, better, faster and cheaper.)
Key Outputs:
Develop and maintain The Herotel Way in collaboration with the EXCO.
Ensure every manager is trained and proficient in applying The Herotel Way to their thinking and solutions, and that they continuously improve in this.
Ensure the IT systems that support The Herotel Way is in place.
Ensure the NDL, MOS, Innovations and Communication is successfully implemented and used.
Able to show the improvements register per function.
Delivering every change project on time.
Every communication initiative delivered as planned.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in mid and senior management and at least 3 years in Herotel.
Have experience with management philosophy and systems.
Skills and Competencies:
Must be well versed and fully understand the functioning of Herotel.
Able to lead people, solve conflict and motivate people to change.
Able to process stress and pressure well, and help others do the same.
Be skilled in implementing projects.
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and implement change.
Knowledge and experience in applying standards and functional best practice.
Results orientation and drive.
Analytical thinking and problem solving.
Decision making and sound judgment.
Resilient, adaptable, and self-aware.
Able to transfer knowledge and skills to others.
Exceptional document writing skills.
Valid driver’s license and travel required.
Educational Requirements:
Grade 12
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in the applicable field will be beneficial.
