Homeschool Tutor/Facilitator for Two Neurodivergent Girls Bergvliet (part -time mornings)

Job Description - Homeschool Tutor/Facilitator for Two Neurodivergent Girls Bergvliet (part -time mornings)

Introduction:
We are seeking a nurturing; gentle homeschool facilitator to support two
neurodivergent sisters (aged 10 and 7 years old) with a PDA and GAD profile.
The girls thrive in relational, trust -based learning environments where
connection comes before academics. The facilitator should be warm, intuitive,
and passionate about neurodiversity, with a willingness to learn and adapt
alongside the family.

The role is less about “teacher at the front of the room” and more
about being a trusted older friend who makes learning happen through
companionship, creativity, and emotional steadiness. A relational approach is
essential; being the prerequisite for any academic progress.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide consistent, secure support to two learners in a
homeschool setting, guiding them academically and emotionally in a gentle,
affirming way. The focus is on building confidence, independence, and joy in
learning, while respecting their unique profiles and learning styles.
Collaboration with parents and openness to co -op learning opportunities are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate CAPS -aligned learning in all
subjects, adapting materials to suit individual learning styles.

       Use relational, child -led methods:
imaginative play, crafting, sensory activities, and creative approaches (e.g.,
writing in sand, sculpting with playdough).

       Support the children’s reading journey
with patience and creativity, reducing anxiety and opening up the joy of
literacy.

       Encouraging love of learning through
step -by -step, gentle guidance that makes learning feel achievable and fun.

       Provide scaffolding for executive
functioning skills, transitions, and short attention spans with sensory breaks
and physical activity.

       Build nurturing, trusting
relationships: practise active listening, hold silent space, and validate
emotions.

       Collaborate with parents and
occasionally support co -op learning with peers.

       Communicate progress and challenges
with sensitivity and consistency.

Use low -arousal techniques to minimise
anxiety: recognise early signs of overwhelm and implement calming strategies
(quiet breaks, sensory toys).

Observe and respond to sensory needs:
adjust lighting, noise levels, and activity pace to create a comfortable
environment.
