Job Description - Homework Facilitator/ Au-Pair for 11-Year-old Girl in Sunset Beach

We are seeking a dedicated
facilitator/au pair to support an 11‑year‑old girl with ADHD and possible
demand‑avoidance tendencies. She attends a therapy school using the Cambridge
curriculum and requires consistent, structured support after school,
including emotional regulation, homework, and extracurricular activities.

She is creative,
communicative, and enjoys girly themes such as Lilo & Stitch, pop music,
and pink. She thrives when guided by someone patient, understanding, and able
to set healthy boundaries while maintaining a nurturing, supportive
relationship.

This role requires someone
who can balance academic facilitation with emotional regulation support,
helping her stay engaged, motivated, and confident in her learning journey. A
relational, trust-based approach is essential, as connection and buy-in are prerequisites
for academic progress.

Purpose of the Role:

To act as a supportive au‑pair/facilitator
who provides consistent guidance from school pick‑up through the afternoon
routine. The facilitator should foster trust, buy‑in, and motivation while
helping her regulate impulsivity, manage transitions, and navigate emotional
dysregulation. By encouraging her creativity and offering steady support during
homework and revision, the facilitator will encourage sustained focus and
elevate her academic performance.

Job Objectives:

·     Support

·     Use
low-arousal, relational techniques to reduce anxiety and resistance,
recognising early signs of overwhelm and implementing calming strategies (quiet
breaks, sensory tools, gentle redirection).

·     Incorporate
brain breaks, sensory-friendly activities, and creative engagement to sustain
focus.

·     Build
a nurturing, trusting relationship: practise active listening, validate
emotions, and create a safe environment where connection comes before
academics.

·     Support
her extracurricular activities, including transport to singing lessons and
other outings.

·     Maintain
healthy boundaries while fostering predictability and structure in her daily
routine, with flexibility to adapt to family needs.
