Role Overview
This role is suited to a confident retail sales professional with experience in hardware, construction, DIY or related industries. The successful candidate will engage with customers, understand their project requirements, demonstrate product features, process sales and contribute to store performance. Product knowledge, customer service and the ability to explain technical specifications clearly are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with customers to understand their specific requirements and recommend appropriate products.
Demonstrate product features, benefits and technical specifications in a clear and helpful manner.
Process sales transactions accurately and maintain relevant sales records.
Arrange product displays and ensure the sales floor remains professional, neat and well presented.
Keep up to date with product knowledge, industry trends and customer needs.
Achieve sales targets and contribute positively to store performance.
Handle customer queries, product questions and service concerns professionally.
Support a customer -focused sales environment by providing practical advice and suitable product recommendations.
Assist customers with small home improvement needs as well as larger architectural or construction -related product enquiries.
Maintain awareness of stock, product availability and point -of -sale requirements.
Requirements
National Certificate / Matric is required.
3 to 6 years retail sales experience in hardware, construction or related industries is required.
Fluency in both English and Afrikaans is required.
Valid B driver license is required.
Excellent product knowledge retention and ability to explain technical specifications are required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Customer -focused approach and commitment to service excellence are required.
Ability to work in a fast -paced retail environment is required.
Sales target achievement, negotiation skills and retail point -of -sale system proficiency are advantageous.
Basic understanding of construction and DIY projects is required.
Must be available to work retail hours, including weekends when required.
The role requires standing for extended periods, occasional product lifting and regular movement around the sales floor.
