Summary: This role supports the Marketing Department by producing high-quality video and photography content for use across digital platforms, including social media, advertising, e-commerce, and the company website.
The primary objective of this role is to create consistent, high-quality visual content that supports marketing campaigns, product promotion, and brand positioning. The role focuses on execution of video and photography production, while working closely with the Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator, who is responsible for final marketing output and content deployment.
This role focuses on content production and delivery only and does not include publishing, campaign management, or final content approval, which remain the responsibility of the Marketing Manager and Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator.

Responsibilities:
Photography & Videography
The Videographer / Photographer is responsible for all video production and product photography across the business. This includes planning, shooting, and delivering content aligned to marketing requirements.
- Conduct product photography for e-commerce platforms, website use, and marketing campaigns
- Capture consistent, high-quality product imagery aligned to platform requirements (e.g. Takealot, website, ads)
- Plan and execute both in-studio and on-site shoots, including basic lifestyle or contextual content where required
- Record video content including:
- Short-form content for social media (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
- Product demonstrations, tutorials, and maintenance videos
- Apply appropriate lighting, composition, and staging techniques to ensure professional output
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and ready for use
- Support operational content requirements including staff training, customer support, product setup, and maintenance content
Editing & post-production
The role is responsible for editing and preparing all visual content for marketing use.
- Edit product images to meet e-commerce and advertising standards, including background cleanup and colour correction
- Edit video content for clarity, pacing, and usability across platforms
- Export content in correct formats and specifications for different platforms
- Maintain consistency in output quality across all content
- Ensure all content is delivered in line with defined platform requirements (Meta, Google, website, WooCommerce, social media formats)
Content Support for Marketing & Campaigns
The role supports marketing execution by supplying content required for campaigns and promotions.
- Produce content aligned to monthly specials, campaigns, and product priorities
- Provide video cut-downs and variations for advertising use
- Supply product photography and video assets for use in ads and social media
- Produce content that supports engagement, clarity, and conversion objectives
- Adapt content based on feedback and performance requirements provided by the Marketing Manager and Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator
- All content must be produced in line with campaign requirements, timelines, and briefs provided by the Marketing Manager and Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
This role works closely with the Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator to ensure efficient workflow and alignment between content production and marketing execution.
- Receive content requirements based on the content calendar and campaign needs
- Provide completed video and photography assets for final design and publishing
- Contribute ideas for content, while aligning to marketing direction
- This role does not publish, schedule, or make final decisions on content output
- All content is produced based on direction and requirements provided by the Marketing Manager and Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator
Content Management & Organisation
The role is responsible for managing raw and edited visual content.
- Upload and organise all content in the shared media library
- Ensure files are correctly named, stored, and accessible
- Maintain a structured archive of all visual assets
- Follow defined asset naming conventions (e.g. SKU-based naming) and folder structures as set by the Digital Designer & Social Media Administrator
- Ensure all assets are delivered in correct formats, sizes, and ratios as required for each platform
Content Turnaround Expectations (SLA Guidelines)
- Product photography: within 48 hours of product availability
- Basic video content (e.g. reels, short-form): within 24–48 hours
- Campaign content: aligned to deadlines set by the Marketing Manager
- Urgent content requests: prioritised based on business and marketing requirements
Quality Control & Standards
- Ensure all content meets required quality and brand standards before handover
- Maintain consistency across all video and photography output
- Continuously improve technical execution and content quality
- Ensure all content is suitable for commercial use and supports engagement, clarity, and conversion objectives

Minimum Requirements:
Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in photography, videography, or content creation
- Experience working with product or commercial content
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe Photoshop / Lightroom
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Basic knowledge of After Effects (advantageous)
- Experience with camera equipment, lighting, and product staging
- Understanding of content formats for social media and digital platforms
Marketing Awareness
- Basic understanding of content requirements for:
- Social media
- Digital advertising
- E-commerce platforms
- Ability to produce content suitable for commercial use
