Gijima is recruiting 1 x Graphic Designer intern to join their marketing team, at head office in Midrand on a 12-month Internship program. The ideal candidate must be a creative and skilled graphic designer, who is passionate about design, is detailed orientated and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Gijima marketing and creative teams to produce visually appealing designs that communicate the Gijima brand message effectively. The individual should also be keen on doing other marketing related activities to support the team, such as building sales and solution presentation and events co-ordination.

The criteria is as follows:-

• Candidates must have  completed a relevant 3 year tertiary qualification.
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
• Proven experience as a graphic designer or similar role will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign)
• Strong portfolio showcasing creative and professional design work)
• Candidates must be computer literate and must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, email and Internet
• No criminal record;
• Candidates must currently be unemployed;
• Candidates must not be participating on another learnership or internship program;
• Candidates must live in Gauteng (preferably in the Midrand area) – relocation is NOT an option;
• Candidates must be under the age of 35 as at 1 July 2024;
• Candidates must be a South African Citizen – African, Coloured and Indian;

  SKLLS/KEY COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of printing processes and specifications is a plus.
• Create visually engaging graphics for various platforms including digital and print media.
• Develop and design marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, banners, and advertisements.
• Conceptualize and design layouts for websites, social media, and email campaigns.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm ideas and develop creative concepts.
• Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent brand identity.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and feedback.
• Community management skills (social media direct response) and web UX and UI design optional
