Job Description - Internal Sales Consultant

A top-tier manufacturing brand in the decor space is expanding its Maitland branch and seeking a customer-focused Internal Sales Representative. This is a permanent, full-time, in-office role ideal for a proactive individual looking to build a long-term career. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 16:30 with an early finish every Friday at 15:30. The successful candidate will manage customer relationships, convert sales opportunities, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship Management: Act as the key contact for assigned accounts, build long-term relationships, understand buying patterns, and make proactive regular contact.
Sales & Account Growth: Cross-sell/upsell products, promote special offers, and make weekly calls to retain customers or re-engage inactive accounts.
Quotations & Follow-Ups: Prepare precise customer quotations, follow up within agreed timeframes, track reasons for lost deals, and convert quotes into confirmed orders.
Order Processing: Accurately process customer orders on the Odoo ERP/CRM system, verify pricing/stock, monitor outstanding orders, and liaise with logistics/dispatch.
Technical & Sales Support: Answer customer queries, assist external sales reps with quotes and samples, handle showroom walk-ins, and resolve delivery or product queries.

Requirements

Proven experience in internal sales, telesales, or sales support.
Strong computer literacy with hands-on experience using ERP or CRM software (Odoo experience is an advantage).
Outstanding communication, telephone etiquette, and relationship-building skills.
Strong commercial awareness with a track record of asking for and closing sales.
High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
Fluency in English (Afrikaans is a strong advantage).
Own reliable transport and a valid driver's license (non-negotiable).
