LOGISTICS & INVENTORY MANAGERESS - Beauty & Cosmetics (logistics, inventory and cost accounting)

Management of all inventory and inventory related tasks from day-to-day management, forecasting, ordering, and costing.

HOURS & SHIFTS:

• Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00

COST TO COMPANY & BENEFITS:

• R36,000 per month GROSS

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Matric Certificate / Grade 12
2. Degree OR other qualification in Business Administration / Logistics or similar FMCG
3. BONUS - Qualification in Accounting / Book-keeping
4. BONUS - knowledge and understanding of the Spa/Beauty industries

EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in import management, logistics, or related field
2. Strong understanding of import processes, customs regulations, and logistics
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
4. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Accounting Software (Sage / Pastel / Palladium) and import-related software

JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES:

1. LOGISTICS - manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction .

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
• Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers
• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
• Arrange warehouse, catalogue goods
• Resolve any arising problems or complaints
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
• Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirement

2. INVENTORY - ensure that all business operations have adequate stock to achieve their objectives.

• Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
• Inspect the levels of business supplies to identify shortages
• Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
• Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
• Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
• Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus
• Analyze data to anticipate future needs
• Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
• Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
• Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
• Product costing, standard cost updates, analysis of cost variance, and preparation of cost reports
• Handling inventory, reporting, and reconciliations
• Performing month-end closing activities and ensuring financial accounting related to revenue and costing is completed in a timely and accurate manner

3. IMPORT & EXPORT - Manage the shipment of goods

• Ensure that shipment is done in accordance with the rules and regulation of Import and Export.
• Engage with the insurance, tariffs and quotas.
• Make categories of the shipment according to tariff coding system.
• Liaise with custom agents to ensure shipment is done through customs.
• Negotiate to reduce taxes and duties owed.
