Our client is an owner -managed, international recruitment consultancy specialising in the construction, finance, and real estate industries. Founded in London in 2001, the business has grown to more than 200 employees across 9 locations in Europe and the USA.

The German operation has been established since 2008, with its head office in Berlin and additional offices in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart. The company currently employs approximately 80 people in Germany and continues to expand its dedicated, highly professional finance team.

To support this growth, they are looking to appoint a Junior Financial Accountant / AP & AR Assistant to join their German finance function remotely from South Africa.

The Role

This is a junior, transactional finance role with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The position is well -suited to someone early in their finance career who enjoys hands -on bookkeeping and wants to develop within an international environment.

Working closely with the German and UK teams, you will be responsible for accurate financial processing, documentation, and support across core accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Independent posting of day -to -day business transactions, including:

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

Bank transactions and credit cards

Assets and travel expenses

Processing and monitoring invoicing

Preparation and review of payment runs

Master data and account maintenance

Support with advanced sales tax returns

Assistance with monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB, in collaboration with the external tax office and UK -based colleagues

Weekly cash flow support and updates

Acting as a point of contact for employees, suppliers, customers, auditors, and authorities

Participation in finance -related projects and preparation of information for other departments

Systems & Tools

DATEV (core accounting system)

Spendesk

MS Office, with strong emphasis on Excel

Junior -level experience in transactional finance, bookkeeping, AP and/or AR preferred

Good working knowledge of HGB

Very good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel

Experience with DATEV is highly advantageous

Full professional proficiency in German (written and spoken) – essential

Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) – highly desirable

High level of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail

Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently

Team -oriented, organised, and committed working style
