Lead Product Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Product Engineer to take ownership of solutions across Base24, Java/AWS environments, and switching systems within the card payments domain. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Credit, Debit, and Prepaid card lifecycle management, Base24 Classic configuration, and development within EFT/ATM/POS ecosystems. This role blends hands-on engineering with leadership in technical delivery and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end development and delivery of card payment solutions.
  

• Ensure compliance with MasterCard and Visa regulations.
  

• Configure and support the Base24 Switch, including migration, certification, and cutover processes.
  

• Manage incident resolution, provide proactive production support, and liaise with helpdesk/stakeholders.
  

• Conduct system checks (disk space, batch jobs, EMS logs, TLF/PTLF, etc.) and resolve transaction-level issues.
  

• Drive configuration management and troubleshooting across host interfaces, device handlers, routing, and cryptography.
  

• Ensure solution scalability, security, and high availability within mission-critical payment systems.

Technical Requirements:

• 8+ years of Java development experience; strong proficiency in Spring Boot, AWS, and Angular.
  

• Deep hands-on expertise in Base24 Classic, including TACL, SCobol, COBOL, TAL, and PATHWAY.
  

• Experience in switching environments: EFT, ATM, POS, transaction routing, and host interface integration.
  

• Working knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards and integration into financial systems.
  

• Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
  

• Experience with tools like Rancher, Trace Transformer, and Postgres is advantageous.
  

• Familiar with tools: ENFORM, FUP, SCUP, DBU, DDL, INSPECT, SPOOLER.
  

• Strong understanding of high availability, performance tuning, and system resilience.
  

• Database experience: Enscribe, Non-stop SQL, DB2, VSAM.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  

• Proven track record as a Lead/Senior Engineer in financial transaction environments.
  

• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  

• Ability to lead and mentor within cross-functional engineering teams.

Desirable:

• Previous experience with Base24 Switch certification and migration projects.
  

• Exposure to end-to-end SDLC in banking or card-based payment systems.
  

• Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, high-availability environments.
