Job Description - Lodge Facilities Coordinator

Lodge Facilities Coordinator | Luxury Lodge | Northern KwaZulu-Natal

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Lodge Facilities Coordinator for a luxury lodge and reserve based in Northern KwaZulu-Natal.

This live-in opportunity is ideal for a practical and skilled maintenance professional with strong mechanical, technical and infrastructure maintenance experience. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the lodge, reserve facilities and vehicle fleet, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, functionality and guest comfort.

Location: Northern KwaZulu-Natal

Accommodation: Live-In

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Fleet & Mechanical Management

â¢ Manage and maintain the safari and reserve vehicle fleet

â¢ Schedule and carry out preventative maintenance programmes

â¢ Conduct mechanical diagnostics, fault-finding and repairs

â¢ Maintain tyres, brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain components

â¢ Keep accurate service records, maintenance logs and mileage reports

â¢ Liaise with external mechanics and service providers when required

Lodge & Infrastructure Maintenance

â¢ Maintain guest accommodation, public areas and operational facilities

â¢ Carry out plumbing repairs and water system maintenance

â¢ Perform electrical fault-finding and basic installations

â¢ Conduct carpentry, painting and general building maintenance

â¢ Ensure all lodge infrastructure remains in excellent working condition

Reserve & Operational Maintenance

â¢ Maintain pumps, boreholes and water reticulation systems

â¢ Conduct fence, gate and welding repairs

â¢ Assist with reserve road maintenance in conjunction with contractors

â¢ Oversee workshop organisation, tools and equipment maintenance

â¢ Ensure all operational infrastructure supports the efficient running of the reserve

Health & Safety

â¢ Ensure all vehicles are safe, roadworthy and guest-ready

â¢ Maintain safe working practices across all departments

â¢ Identify and report maintenance risks and safety concerns

â¢ Ensure compliance with lodge health and safety standards

Expected Outcomes

â¢ High vehicle fleet availability with minimal downtime

â¢ Well-maintained lodge facilities and reserve infrastructure

â¢ Effective preventative maintenance programmes that reduce long-term costs

â¢ Safe, functional and guest-ready facilities at all times

â¢ Positive contribution to operational efficiency and guest satisfaction

Requirements

â¢ 5â10 years' maintenance experience, ideally within a lodge, reserve or remote-site environment

â¢ Practical trade qualification advantageous

â¢ Strong mechanical, electrical and technical maintenance knowledge

â¢ Experience with vehicle maintenance and diagnostics

â¢ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

â¢ Valid driver's licence

â¢ Comfortable living and working in a remote bush environment
