Lodge Manager | Luxury Lodge | Cederberg, Western Cape

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Lodge Manager for a luxury lodge located in the heart of the Cederberg region. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences while leading operations in a unique and remote wilderness environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation of the luxury lodge, restaurant and guest experience while ensuring exceptional service standards and smooth operational performance. This role requires a practical leader with excellent organisational skills, strong financial acumen and the ability to thrive in a remote location approximately three hours from Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily lodge operations
  


• Deliver exceptional guest experiences from arrival through to departure
  


• Lead, manage and motivate teams across all lodge departments
  


• Drive staff development, training and performance
  


• Oversee kitchen operations and ensure food and service standards are maintained
  


• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the property is presented to the highest standard
  


• Manage stock control, maintenance, vehicles and guest facilities
  


• Coordinate staff schedules, guest logistics and operational planning
  


• Liaise with Head Office and neighbouring operational departments where required
  


• Manage operational budgets and maintain strong financial controls
  


• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
  


• Provide leadership during operational challenges and emergency situations
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Lodge Manager or senior hospitality management role
  


• Previous experience within luxury hospitality is essential
  


• Strong leadership and people management skills
  


• Good culinary knowledge and understanding of food and beverage operations
  


• Excellent financial and administrative management ability
  


• Strong operational knowledge across all lodge departments
  


• Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
  


• Self-motivated, adaptable and solutions-driven
  


• Comfortable living and working in a remote environment
  


• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high service standards
