Lowbed Driver - Grade 2

Red Ember Recruitment is currently recruiting for a client seeking an experienced Lowbed Driver.

• Operate lowbed truck to load, secure, transport, and offload heavy/ oversized equipment.
  
• Conduct pre -trip and post -trip inspections of the truck and trailer, ensuring roadworthiness.
  
• Ensure proper loading techniques, including correct use of chains, binders, and securing devices.
  
• Comply with traffic laws, road transport regulations, and permit requirements for abnormal loads.
  
• Complete delivery and collection documentation (logbooks, trip sheets, delivery notes).
  
• Monitor vehicle condition and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
  
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures at all times.
  
• Coordinate with site Supervisors, Diesel Mechanics, and logistics teams regarding delivery schedules.
  
• Assist in minor maintenance or adjustments to secure loads when necessary.

• Grade 12 or equivalent
  
• Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
  

• Minimum three to five years’ experience as a Lowbed or Heavy -Duty truck Driver
  
• Knowledge of abnormal load transportation regulations
  
• Proven experience in transporting construction/mining/heavy equipment safely
  
• Knowledge of road traffic laws and abnormal load permit procedures
  
• Safe and defensive driving
