Job Description - Manager: Assurance, Risk & Compliance

What will you do?

A position for a Manager – Assurance, Risk & Compliance exists within the Santam Broker Solutions (SBS) Risk & Governance team, based in Johannesburg offices

What will make you successful in this role?

The successful incumbent will be required to:
• Plan, perform and report on due diligence reviews as part of the onboarding process for new business partners that intents to enter into an Outsource Service Agreement (OSA) or a Binder Holder Agreement (BHA) with Santam.
• Plan, perform and report on continuous quality assurance reviews on those business partners that are operating on external platforms through a BHA or premium collection agents.
• Ensure that findings arising from these reviews and reviews from Group Internal audit and are tracked through to resolution.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based approach which will be used by the Quality Assurance team in performing reviews.
• Develop Process, Risks and Controls Matrices (PRCMs) and working papers that will be followed by the Quality Assurance team.
• Develop and maintain a quality assurance methodology which will govern how reviews are conducted.
• Review quality assurance reports completed by the Quality Assurance team and ensure that the reports are of the required quality.
• Maintain an up-to-date contract register of OSAs and BHAs.
• Manage the regulatory reporting notification process with Group Compliance during Onboarding, termination of OSAs/BHAs or material amendment of contracts.
• Act as an internal trusted compliance adviser to various business stakeholders.
• Compile monthly reports for Outsource Business MANCO or CPM Manco.
• Manage the Quality Assurance team – develop Key Performance Indicators, perform appraisals and provide guidance throughout projects; and
• Assist with budgeting for the Quality Assurance team.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum requirement of:
• 5 years or more relevant experience in conducting quality assurance reviews, Audits or Compliance Monitoring 
• 5 years or more proven track record of managing people
