Job Description - Manager: Compensation & Benefits

Description

We are seeking a Manager: Compensation & Benefits to drive the development and implementation of strategies that strengthen our Employee Value Proposition. This role is critical in securing and retaining key talent while enhancing overall business performance.

  • You have the ability to anticipate market trends, benchmark best practices, and introduce innovative reward strategies that strengthen the Employee Value Proposition.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and manage annual salary budgets, short-term and long-term incentive plans (STIP & LTIP).
  • Oversee pension fund surplus utilization and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Design and maintain reward strategies, retention programs, and technical ladders to support capability development.
  • Manage Executive Remuneration and prepare & present proposals to the Remuneration Committee (REMCO).
  • Ensure effective governance of Employee Share Ownership Plans and benefit funds.
  • Lead policy development for retirement, medical, insured benefits, and reward programs.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Discovery Health, Momentum Life, Alexander Forbes, and regulatory bodies.
  • Market Analysis – Conduct job evaluations and market benchmarking to ensure pay is both internally equitable and externally competitive.
  • Compliance and Reporting including internal and external Audit requirements – Ensure all program and procedures comply with current laws and prepare necessary statistical and regulatory reports.


Requirements
    • NQF Level 7 Degree (Bachelor's Degree)
    • 10 years' experience managing the Compensation function (operating at Senior Management level)
    • 5 years HR Reward experience.
    • Strong knowledge of Labour Acts (LRA, BCEA, EEA) and Employee Share Schemes
