Job Description - Manager: Service Delivery Management
## \n\nWhen it comes to putting people first, we\u0027re number 1. \n\nThe number 1 Top Employer in South Africa. \nCertified by the Top Employer Institute 2026. \n\n## Role Purpose/Business Unit: \n\nThe ideal candidate is a decisive operational leader with deep experience in high\u2011severity incident response, war room leadership, stakeholder escalation, and service recovery in complex technical environments.\n\n \nYou will be responsible for establishing full situational visibility, coordinating cross\u2011functional teams, and continuously improving how the organisation manages and resolves major incidents.\n\n## Your responsibilities will include:\n\n * Provide clear end\u2011to\u2011end leadership for all P1/P0 incidents, ensuring rapid restoration of services.\n * Establish, lead, and control War Rooms for critical outages to ensure focused and coordinated recovery efforts.\n * Drive structured Boiler Room sessions during prolonged instability or post\u2011incident to accelerate recovery and action closure.\n * Drive escalation to internal stakeholders to ensure rapid decision\u2011making, timely resource mobilisation, and executive visibility.\n * Deliver clear, concise incident communication to executives, technical domains, business teams, and customer\u2011facing units.\n * Produce high\u2011quality incident reports and management\u2011level trend reports covering MTTR, recurring issues, and service impacts.\n * Lead Post\u2011Incident Reviews, ensuring robust RCAs and tracking corrective and preventive actions to closure.\n * Ensure consistent execution of the Major Incident Management process across all domains.\n * Collaborate closely with Problem, Change, Fault, and Event Management to strengthen end\u2011to\u2011end incident lifecycle maturity.\n * Use dashboards, analytics, monitoring tools, and collaboration platforms to drive visibility and reduce MTTR.\n * Maintain strong cross\u2011functional partnerships with Network, IT, Cloud, Vendors, and Business units for coordinated incident response.\n * Identify patterns and risks leading to major incidents and contribute to service reliability and resilience improvements.\n * Build, coach, and manage a high\u2011performing team of Major Incident Managers, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness.\n * Promote a culture of accountability, structured execution, and continuous improvement.\n\n\n\n## The ideal candidate for this role will have: \n\n * Degree/3\u2011year National Diploma or degree field related (Essential)\n * ITIL Foundation or higher (Advantageous)\n * Certifications in service operations, incident leadership, or operational excellence (Advantageous) \n\n\n\n## Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:\n\n * Critical thinking and problem solving\n * Strong analytical and decision\u2011making capability\n * Clear and confident communication\n * High collaboration and stakeholder engagement\n * Leadership under pressure\n * Customer\u2011centric mindset\n * Ability to drive clarity and structure during crises\n * 5+ years experience in Telecommunications, Technology Operations, IT Operations, or related real\u2011time service environments.
