Position Overview Manufacturing Manager / Production Executive

The Manufacturing Manager / Production Executive will oversee all production-related operations at the Polypropylene Textiles plant located in Durban. This role demands a highly qualified individual, ideally with a strong background in mechanical or industrial engineering and extensive experience in managing large-scale manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall manufacturing operations of the Polypropylene Textiles plant.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to increase production efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure that the plant meets all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimization of machinery and equipment.
• Manage a diverse team, including responsibilities for manufacturing, engineering, quality control, production planning, OHSAct compliance, and ISO standards.
• Monitor and control budgets and financial performance.
• Responsible for Capex projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers and clients to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Implement and maintain continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Industrial Engineering Degree / Diploma, Engineering Qualification, or a related qualification (preferred).
• 10 to 15 years experience managing manufacturing plants, with a preference for experience in textiles or similar industries.
• Experience and exposure to Syspro would be an advantage.
• Proven track record of leadership and management in a complex industrial environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and develop employees with potential for growth.
