Marketing Assistant (Desktop Publishing)

The Role:
We are seeking a Junior Desktop Publisher to join our Marketing Team on a full-time basis, based at our Ballito Office. This role will focus on the creation and maintenance of marketing and communication materials, with occasional support for SEO and website development projects. The ideal candidate will have a flair for design, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out desktop publishing tasks, including the formatting and layout of marketing materials and client deliverables.


• Support the management of our online presence (LinkedIn, Google My Business, etc.)


• Support the production and distribution of newsletters and manage mailing lists.


• Provide occasional support for SEO campaigns and website content updates.


• Maintain the media library and ensure adherence to client Non-Disclosure Agreements. 


• Provide ad hoc support to internal communications, including policy updates and procedure documentation.

Technical Requirements:

• Adobe Creative Suite: Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (desktop publishing and graphic design).


• MS Office Suite: Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.


• Basic SEO knowledge and a willingness to develop further skills in this area.


• Familiarity with WordPress for updating content and assisting with web projects.


• Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, MailerLite, Substack).


• Basic understanding of Google Suite of Services as well as social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
