Marketing Manager: Commercial

This is not a “keep the lights on” marketing role.

We’re looking for a senior commercially sharp, future-focused Marketing Manager to help shape the next chapter of growth at Ackermans.

You’ll lead the marketing strategy across our Cellular, Financial Services and +more portfolios - turning customer insight into campaigns, innovation, and measurable commercial results.

This role is for someone who can connect the dots between brand, customer, and revenue. Someone who is equally comfortable developing strategy, interrogating performance, influencing senior stakeholders, and inspiring a high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that drive market share growth, revenue, customer acquisition, and brand awareness.

• Lead impactful marketing campaigns, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives across Cellular, Financial Services, and +more.

• Drive customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty through customer-centric and data-driven marketing approaches.

• Grow and optimise digital marketing channels while identifying and implementing innovative marketing solutions and emerging technologies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align marketing activities with business objectives and maximise return on investment.

• Lead strategic projects that enhance customer value, improve efficiencies, and support the long-term growth and success of the Ackermans brand.

• Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, capability building, and a culture of innovation.

• Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and maximising return on marketing investment.

JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong understanding of marketing principles, brand management, market research, and product marketing.

• Good commercial and sales acumen, with the ability to drive customer acquisition, revenue growth, and customer loyalty.Experience in digital marketing, including social media, email marketing, content marketing.

• Strong financial management skills, including budget planning, cost control, and ROI management.

• Ability to analyse data, track key performance indicators, and use insights to improve marketing performance and customer experience.

• Proficiency in marketing technologies, automation platforms, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

• Proven leadership skills, with experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and project leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence and collaborate cross functionally.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years’ experience in marketing or related commercial roles

• Experience in Cellular and/or Financial Services marketing.

• A strong track record of delivering revenue growth and measurable commercial outcomes

• Experience managing integrated, multi-channel campaigns in a retail or FMCG environment

• Deep digital, CRM and ROI Capability

• Demonstrated ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders

• Experience using Power BI

• The leadership energy to build both people and performance
