Key Output

• Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance and repairs as per OEM requirements.

• Systematic and efficiently troubleshoot and diagnose machine systems problems and carry out repairs on earthmoving equipment on customer sites.

• Compile accurate customer machine reports that include failure analysis, condition, service, Machine Inspection Reports (MIR’s) and Technical Analysis reports (TA’s).

• Maintain professional image when representing BWE.

• Work on specific customer sites as per customer requirements (Man on Hire) when required.

• Ensure complying to safe work practices when working on machines.

• Maintain and control Contamination Control Standards.

• Responsible and Control of own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)

• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained (ISO standards)

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Qualified in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) NQF 3

• Minimum 7 years post qualification experience on earthmoving machines (Minimum 5 years Caterpillar experience)

Caterpillar Machine specific technical knowledge and skills (Caterpillar Certification an advantage)

Sound interpersonal and communication skills

Good technical report writing

Good Computer Literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge, Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Applicable fundamental product knowledge (Caterpillar).

• Advance trouble shooting and problem-solving skills

Basic business and financial understanding.

• Good health – meet Company and customer site compliance requirements.

• Have basis tools (BWE standard kit)

Driver’s licence – Code B

• Prepare to travel daily.

• Prepare to work away from home on short notice and undefine periods

Understanding of OEM and supplier warranty systems, policies & procedures.

• Required to work on Various customer sites on an adhoc.
