Job Title:

Assistant maintenance / handyman

Job purpose:  
Support the Maintenance Manager in keeping manufacturing equipment, facilities and office buildings safe and well maintained. Use practical technical ability to identify faults, carry out minor handyman repairs, assist with preventative maintenance and coordinate approved service providers for specialist repairs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with breakdowns and preventative maintenance for manufacturing equipment.


• Monitor maintenance needs across the factory, offices, toilets and change rooms, including plumbing, painting and building repairs.


• Carry out minor repairs within your ability and arrange specialist assistance where needed.


• Manage PPE stock, issuing, records and replenishment for staff.


• Keep maintenance records up to date and follow company safety procedures

Qualifications and experience:

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities support or a similar role,


• Practical technical knowledge and the ability to identify maintenance must have a technical ability.


• Good organisation, communication and follow-up skills.


• Experience coordinating suppliers and service providers.


• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential.
