Job Description - On-site Sales Support Specialist

A client in packaging distribution, supplying high-quality packaging consumables to a wide range of industries is seeking a full-time, on-site Sales Support Specialist to join their sales team. You will play a critical role in impacting their revenue growth & brand identity division, by delivering world-class customer experiences.
This role is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the importance of
detailed coordination, and is committed to purposefully connecting with customers, suppliers, and internal
teams. Reporting to the Sales & Brand Manager, you will help ensure operational
excellence through accuracy, proactive communication, and relationship support.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support & Relationship Management:
  • Provide responsive, friendly, and accurate support to customers via phone, email, and walk-ins.
  • Track and manage sales orders, customer quotes, and delivery follow-ups with attention to
    product accuracy and turnaround time.
  • Build long-lasting customer relationships by cultivating an understanding of their packaging
    needs, preferences, and buying patterns.
  • Respond promptly to customer queries and complaints and resolve issues collaboratively with
    the sales and operations teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records across accounting and CRM systems.

Sales Administration & Data Integrity:
  • Maintain all customer master data, including pricing, contact details, and transaction history.
  • Prepare and process quotes and sales orders for approval and execution.
  • Log customer and sales team interactions in CRM to ensure visibility and accountability.
  • Review and analyse sales data to assist in the preparation of reports, stock movement
    summaries, and profitability insights.

Sales Team Support:
  • Work closely with Sales Representatives to help them meet and exceed targets by handling
    administrative tasks and freeing up their time for relationship-building and closing deals.
  • Monitor open quotes and support sales conversions through proactive customer engagement.
  • Support the Sales & Brand Manager with travel bookings, events, and report preparation.

Digital Marketing & Brand Engagement:
  • Coordinate and execute digital marketing efforts, including content scheduling, social media
    engagement, and email marketing.
  • Assist with promotional campaigns and client communications to enhance brand visibility and
    lead generation.

Performance Expectations:
  • Provide reliable and efficient sales administrative support that directly contributes to revenue
    growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Uphold a high level of data integrity, accuracy, and detail across all systems and documents.
  • Support the broader team by actively engaging in problem-solving and identifying opportunities
    for continuous improvement.


Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in a fast-paced sales & customer service environment.
  • Manufacturing or packaging experience preferable.
  • Accomplished analytical and critical thinker who proactively anticipates needs and trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work across diverse teams and personalities.
  • Consistently delivers work that is accurate, thorough, and carefully considered.
  • Proven ability to create win-win solutions and resolve conflict constructively.
  • Track record of resilience and maintaining high standards under pressure or adversity.
  • Proficient in Sage, POS systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with CRM systems and digital marketing platforms like Canva.
  • Reside in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
  • Valid Matric Certificate, with a qualification in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.


Benefits

  • Full-time on-site, Monday's to Friday's from 08:00 to 17:00 in Backenfell, Cape Town.
  • This role would require occasional management of client inquiries outside of the business operational hours.
