Job Description - Packaging Team Leader - Epping, Cape Town

Overall Responsibility: The team leader is responsible for ensuring a brewery's products are packed correctly and made ready for distribution. They manage a team of staff involved in various packaging and warehousing processes, including bottling, canning, boxing, kegging and palletising. Run a shift when required; attend to after hours requirements on the line.

Packaging Team Leader

Apply Fundamental/Situational Knowledge of Packaging Equipment and Processes

Manage Shift Performance

Optimize production team performance and processes

Perform packaging related administrative tasks

Manage and reduce waste on shift

Utility monitoring and optimization

Focus Area 2
Health & Safety

Maintain a safe, Healthy and Risk-free Environment on Shift

Assist in Autonomous Maintenance and Breakdowns on the line

Focus Area 3
Leadership, People Management and Development

Support and entrench the company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.

Inspire and motivate the broader SHP team (not just your direct reports) to deliver on goals and maximize individual and the overall company performance

Provide overside and direction to your team

Recruit, development and performance management of your direct reports

Requirements of the Role

Matric certificate or relevant equivalent high school diploma

Minimum of 2 years experience as a Process Operator or Process Artisan on high speed packaging lines

Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment

Excellent physical condition and coordination

Preferred Skills/Competencies

Deep understanding of maintenance practices

Analytical Problem Solver

Strong Record Keeping Skills

Strong Leadership skills

Self-managing & Goal driven
