Painter & Handyman

BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Painter & Handyman to join a goal-oriented team.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

• Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:

• 5 years similar/ relevant experience in industry or equivalent would be advantageous.
• Construction background advantageous.
• Stores experience advantageous.
• Health & Safety experience advantageous

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Core Technical Delivery:

• Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all
• types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing and
• heat-resistant finishes.
• Power and hand tools used in the performance of assigned tasks.
• To attend maintenance work as per schedules planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions using a variety of
• carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments, make standard
• shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selects materials necessary for the work.
• Uses hand and power tools to measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, and related materials to
• Specification.
• Uses hand and power tools to fabricate, install, and repair solid surface materials (countertops,
• partitions, and wall surfaces).
• Deliver support to the Store man as when required.
• Continually strive to deliver solutions through teamwork that ensures continuous improvement
• through innovative solutions.
• Achieving/maintaining the facilities and processes in full compliance with the current regulations and
• guidelines.
• Responsible for ensuring that the Engineering department and its respective sections deliver services
• and solutions in alignment with pharmaceutical quality system requirements.
• Escorting service providers on-site to conduct their maintenance/ work as and when required.
• Ensure service providers adhere to cGMP, Biosafety, and Health/Safety requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring that the equipment is functional/working according to specification before
• signing off with the service provider.

Manage timelines with Stakeholders and ensure close out of maintenance issues/ concerns.
