Payroll Administrator - Basic finance

Malander is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Administrator to join our client based in Boksburg permanently in a role that combines payroll administration with basic finance support.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, works with a high level of integrity and confidentiality, and has the emotional intelligence to handle sensitive employee payroll queries professionally.

What we're looking for:

• Immediate availability with no notice period


• 2–3 years’ experience in payroll administration or relevant payroll/finance experience


• Relevant qualification/certificate in Payroll, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is preferred


• Strong payroll administration capabilities


• Basic understanding of finance, including debits and credits, reconciliations, payroll journals and variances


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information


• Ability to remain calm, empathetic and professional when dealing with difficult or sensitive queries


• Strong judgement, accountability and ownership


• Good Excel skills

Key responsibilities:

• Process payroll accurately and within required deadlines


• Manage payroll inputs, deductions and statutory requirements


• Perform payroll checks, reconciliations and variance reviews


• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee salary and personal information


• Respond to and resolve employee payroll queries professionally


• Support basic finance activities, including payroll journals, reconciliations and variance investigations
