Payroll Officer

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer for a luxury wine estate located in the beautiful Franschhoek region. This position is ideal for a candidate who has a strong understanding of payroll processes and labour legislation, with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full payroll function for all staff, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments
  




• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant tax and labour regulations
  




• Process employee benefits, deductions, and leave
  




• Reconcile payroll reports and prepare monthly payroll journals
  




• Liaise with HR and Finance departments regarding payroll-related matters
  




• Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information
  




• Prepare annual reports, including IRP5s and other statutory documentation
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a payroll position, preferably within the hospitality or wine industry
  




• Solid understanding of payroll systems and relevant South African legislation
  




• Proficient in payroll software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or similar) and MS Excel
  




• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  




• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  




• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  




• Own transport preferred due to the live-out nature of the role
