Our client, a well-established toy distributor, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Planner to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded individual who thrives on numbers, forecasting, and online sales performance, and who is eager to grow within a fast-paced distribution environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in forecasting, demand planning, and pricing within the online retail space, while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the business.
Role Overview
The Planner will be responsible for analysing sales data, forecasting demand, and supporting pricing strategies across online sales platforms. This role requires exceptional Excel skills, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive performance.
Experience within an online retail or marketplace environment (such as sellers operating on platforms like Takealot, Amazon, or Makro Marketplace) will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse historical sales data to produce accurate online sales forecasts
Conduct demand planning to ensure optimal stock availability across online platforms
Develop and maintain pricing models suited to the online retail environment
Monitor marketplace performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Support customer relations through data-driven insights
Collaborate with internal teams to align supply, sales, and financial planning
Prepare detailed reports and dashboards using advanced Excel functionality
Continuously improve forecasting and planning processes
Minimum Requirements
Completed undergraduate financial degree (BCom or similar)
Strong analytical ability with a high level of numerical accuracy
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (essential)
Experience in an online retail, marketplace, or distribution environment (advantageous)
Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Exceptional attention to detail
Willingness to work full-time in-office
