Platform Engineer – Open Source & AWS

Role Overview

CyberPro Consulting is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with strong expertise in AWS cloud services and open-source technologies to support the design, development, automation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable technology platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience building and managing cloud-native environments, implementing Infrastructure as Code, automating deployments, and supporting containerised applications using modern DevOps practices and open-source tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  

• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
  

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.
  

• Manage containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  

• Work with open-source technologies to build and support cloud-native platforms.
  

• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance optimisation.
  

• Apply security best practices across cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  

• Support platform reliability, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
  

• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, security teams, and DevOps professionals.
  

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues.
  

• Promote automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement.
  

Essential Technical Skills

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
  

• Experience with Linux and open-source technologies.
  

• Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
  

• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  

• Docker and Kubernetes.
  

• Scripting using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  

• Monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/OpenSearch.
  

• Networking, security, and cloud infrastructure fundamentals.
  

• Experience with Git and configuration management tools.
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
  

• Knowledge of cloud security and DevSecOps practices.
  

• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, S3, and CloudWatch.
  

• Experience with open-source platform engineering tools and technologies.
  

• Experience working in Agile environments.
