To support ongoing credit and risk management activities, including collections administration, to effectively monitor and control financial exposure.

The role focuses on engaging customers regarding payments, early risk identification, managing defaulting accounts, creating sustainable payment arrangements, assessing and adjusting accounts, and supporting Ongoing Credit and Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage costs and expenses within approved budgets to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions.
  • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with stakeholders including end-users, SMEs, project managers and senior staff.
  • Maintain expert understanding of relevant legislation, industry best practices and provide proactive advice.
  • Monitor daily overdrawn printouts and undertake referrals to reduce overdrawn accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, legislative and audit requirements.
  • Monitor and control Branch OCS and SAD queues and reduce activities to zero.
  • Approve facility requests within LDA and analyse requests outside LDA with recommendations to management.
  • Monitor, manage and close dormant accounts to improve retention and reduce costs.
  • Monitor account categorisation within the portfolio and manage triggered accounts.
  • Monitor and manage collections processes to improve efficiencies and recoveries.
  • Gather, analyse and distribute relevant business information.
  • Manage personal development to enhance skills and competencies.

Additional Duties – Campaigns, Debt Review and Reactivation

Assess and Mitigate Risk

  • Conduct assessments of high-risk accounts to identify early warning indicators.
  • Engage customers to address risk concerns and implement corrective actions.

Proactive Customer Engagement

  • Provide proactive, tailored solutions to prevent arrears or escalation in collections.
  • Build strong client relationships and provide informed guidance using FNB products and services.

Collections Optimisation

  • Improve collections outcomes through negotiated payment arrangements and account adjustments.
  • Analyse account trends to reduce delinquency and improve portfolio health.

Customer-Centric Solutions

  • Act as a trusted advisor delivering financial insights and personalised solutions.
  • Promote responsible financial behaviour and sustainable repayment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training to remain informed on FNB value propositions and products.

Requirements

  • NQF Level 5 or equivalent qualification.

Additional Requirements

  • 2–3 years experience in collections and recovery.
  • Experience working on Hogan and Plexis systems.
  • Strong account risk management experience.
  • Experience setting up and managing payment arrangements.
