Job Description - Product and Technical Marketing Analyst
This critical role will be instrumental in the strategic research, design, and development of the cutting-edge insurance products of the organisation, with a strong emphasis on health and short-term solutions across diverse African markets. This role blends advanced product development expertise with strategic technical marketing insight to position the offerings as innovative and market-leading. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with manual processes and fragmented data sources.
This global health and life insurance organisation who is redefining success in the health, life and global insurance industry is looking for a Product Development & Technical Marketing Analyst with experience in the insurance sector to join their Product and Actuarial department on a full-time, permanent hybrid basis.
Key focus areas of this role:
Conduct in-depth market and competitor analysis to guide innovative product design, competitive pricing, and strategic positioning—especially across African markets.
Drive and support the full product development lifecycle, from concept and benefit design to pricing, specification, and successful product launch.
Evaluate and synthesise complex data to uncover growth opportunities, monitor product performance, and recommend enhancements to boost profitability and market relevance.
Design impactful technical dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance, sales trends, and the effectiveness of marketing strategies—tailored for both technical and commercial stakeholders.
Partner with cross-functional teams (actuarial, underwriting, sales, marketing, compliance) to ensure seamless alignment and execution of product strategies.
Develop engaging technical documentation, product training materials, and educational assets for internal teams and external partners.
Support compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, including preparation of documentation for product approvals and filings.
Capture and communicate market insights to inform continuous product refinement and technical marketing initiatives.
Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and forums to enhance brand visibility and technical credibility, as needed.
Cultivate a product-centric technical community and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the African insurance ecosystem.
Requirements
Partly qualified actuary OR completed University degree in data analytics, research, product development, benefit design, or pricing.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in short-term insurance, with a preference for experience in African territories.
Up to 10 years’ relevant experience in research, product development, data analytics, or technical marketing within health insurance or related fields

Able to tailor messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform product and marketing decisions.
Experience with African insurance products and markets is a significant advantage.

Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with a drive to “hustle” and resolve challenges, even when processes are manual or data is not centralised.
Exceptional communication - written and verbal skills.
Demonstrated maturity, reliability, and integrity.
Excellent attention to detail.
Respect for timelines and experience with deadline management.
