🚀 Your Role:
As the Tax Product Owner, you will play a significant role in designing, solutioning and maintaining Xceptor’s most advanced, industry-leading tax solutions. The Tax Product owner collaborates across the business and works with internal engineering, client success teams, sales, support and externally with clients and industry partners.
🧩 What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create, own, and execute against the Tax product roadmap tied to the long-term vision and strategy of Xceptor.
- Become the subject matter expert for tax product features with hands-on knowledge of the intricacies of the product with the ability to present functionality and clearly articulate functionality to internal and external stakeholders.
- Accurately define the requirements for key roadmap activities, proving you have a ruthless understanding of prioritisation for value.
- Question, understand, and challenge the development team, articulating both technical and business understanding to users.
- Act as the lead product demonstrator and where appropriate interface with prospect, customer, client engagement and sales engineers.
- Articulate and translate tax requirements into relevant Epics, Features, user stories, scenarios, customer journeys, and wireframes, if necessary, for the developers to understand the goal of each prioritised item.
- Manage product and engineering backlogs on tools operated within the organization (e.g. ProductBoard, Azure DevOps)
- Lead Sprint planning and maintain the product backlog based on the team’s roadmap and priorities.
- Ensure our Tax product remains compatible with SaaS, in collaboration with our other engineering teams.
- Acts as a facilitator between the Development & Product team, Delivery, and any third parties concerning solution functionality.
- Maintain product documentation/catalogue of features and changes.
- Provides walk-throughs as part of user acceptance, to both delivery and clients, and ensures documentation is updated.
- Escalates problems through agreed channels as appropriate and manage them through to successful resolution, keeping all stakeholders regularly updated.

- First class facilitation skills, enabling the team to drive out root requirements, rather than accepting the solution stated by the business/client.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology, especially writing and managing features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- The ability to storyboard and lead solution scoping process whilst ensuring all stakeholders are informed and clear on project activity/involvement.
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate at both a technical and non-technical level.
- Ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of team and business processes.
- Familiarity with the sell-side asset servicing sector and operational withholding tax processes is preferred, but not essential.
