Project Accountant

The Project Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting on the financial performance of projects, ensuring alignment with budgets, contracts, and company financial procedures. This role works closely with project managers and finance teams to monitor costs, support billing activities, and ensure accurate financial tracking across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance against forecasts.
• Prepare project cost reports, revenue recognition statements, and financial summaries for internal and client reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers to support financial planning, budget revisions, and risk assessments.
• Ensure timely and accurate billing, including preparation of invoices and supporting documentation.
• Review and process project-related purchase orders, subcontractor claims, and expense reports.
• Maintain detailed financial records in accordance with accounting standards and audit requirements.
• Reconcile project accounts, investigate discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial data for project reviews, audits, and client reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement in project financial management systems and reporting tools.
