Role Overview
The QC Supervisor will supervise QC teams, manage schedules and daily quality activities, follow up on corrective actions, conduct customer complaint investigations and support the Quality Technologist and Quality Manager. This role requires a visible presence on the floor, strong attention to detail and willingness to work weekends and public holidays when required.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise QC teams, manage schedules and coordinate daily quality control duties.
Monitor staff complement, absenteeism, clocking records, weekly wages and overtime reporting.
Stand in for online quality monitoring when required and support the Quality Technologist or Manager.
Conduct daily plant walkthroughs and monitor quality against Food Safety Management System requirements.
Verify and file checklists on manual or online platforms and assist with electronic quality system implementation.
Conduct internal audits, pre -op inspections, foreign body hunts, metal detector checks and other verification checks.
Organise and conduct environmental and product monitoring as required.
Investigate non -conformances, determine root causes, follow up on corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
Conduct customer complaint investigations and complete reports and corrective action feedback within required timelines.
Assist with technical trials, new product development trials, production implementation and sample management.
Maintain personal hygiene, PPE, process hygiene, SHE implementation and occupational health and safety standards.
Conduct or support internal training sessions where corrective action or quality improvement is required.
Requirements
Grade 12 is required.
Diploma in Food Technology or related field is preferred.
1 to 3 years meat industry experience will be advantageous.
Quality control, food safety, verification and manufacturing exposure are required.
Strong accuracy, detail focus, conscientiousness and verification ability are essential.
Must be able to supervise teams and manage daily floor -based quality activities.
Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays when required.
Must be able to commute reliably to Malmesbury or relocate at own cost.
