Quality Controller: Stores - Mining - Northern Cape

Our client, in the mining industry, is seeking a Quality Controller Stores to join their team in the Northern Cape. This role is crucial in managing the quality of purchased items according to specifications and standards. The successful candidate will ensure stock item compliance, support procurement processes, and address audit requirements, all while maintaining strong quality control measures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect critical spares upon receipt.
• Provide technical assistance to procurement and category managers.
• Evaluate suppliers and compile service level agreements.
• Catalogue and maintain stock items.
• Manage maintenance records and quality control.
• Ensure SHERQ adherence in the working environment.
• Uphold professional work ethics.

Required Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Trade Test Certification with a minimum N4 Engineering Certificate.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of operational quality control experience in a Supply Chain environment.
• Minimum 2 years of operational artisan experience (recommended).

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office Suite; JD Edwards or similar ERP system.
• Policies & Procedures: Strong understanding of company and supply chain policies.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Afrikaans.
• Quality Focus: Commitment to achieving high standards in quality and productivity.
• Customer Relations: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
• Technical Aptitude: Solid foundation in technical specifications and procurement support.
• Organizational Skills: Effective in planning, organizing, and managing priorities.
• Commercial Awareness: Understanding of cost, value, and impact of procurement decisions.
