Quality Manager

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join the team in Johannesburg supporting Southern Africa.  The individual will be responsible for the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System (QMS) implemented at Alfred H Knight. The Quality function serves to raise the technical competence of the Group and benchmark performance through a variety of initiatives to introduce continuous and step change improvement and to monitor KPIs to shape Business strategy.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbent will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Overseeing and managing all quality-related activities across African laboratories and operations in line with the company Quality Policy and the requirements of ISO 17025 and ISO 17020


• Supports the implementation and maintenance of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO.IEC 17020 for laboratories and sites seeking accreditation, as well as those that are already accredited, ensuring compliance with quality management and technical requirements.


• Drives and coordinates internal audits across the African region


• Provides monthly high-level reports on QC performance, non-conformances, and customer complaints 


• Serves as a key contact for senior and line managers in resolving quality-related issues and driving continuous improvement

• Remains objective, organized, and resilient in managing audits, non-conformances, and quality risks

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Diploma in Quality Management or similar field 

Required work experience

• 10 years’ experience in an analytical/inorganic chemistry lab with proven track record of ISO17025 and ISO17020 system implementation to accreditation

Travel

• Local and international travel will be required. The incumbent must have the ability to travel frequently across Southern Africa.
