Our client is a food manufacturing operation based in Malmesbury where product quality, legal compliance, food safety and customer standards are central to operations. The company requires a quality professional who can maintain systems, verify controls, support audits and work closely with production teams.
Role Overview
The Quality Technologist is responsible for ensuring that all products produced at the site consistently meet quality, food safety, legal and customer requirements. The role includes continuous monitoring, verification, improvement of food safety and quality systems, internal audits, document control, customer complaint investigation and technical support to operations.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and verify best practices in line with the Food Safety Management System, including facilities, utilities, pest control, waste, maintenance, foreign object control, hygiene and sanitation.
Review and maintain quality control checks, sampling plans, interpretation and trend analysis to evaluate system performance.
Conduct and oversee internal training sessions to ensure staff comply with quality principles.
Develop audit schedules, perform internal audits and maintain all documents and records according to document management requirements.
Manage PPE and consumable stock levels to ensure operational readiness.
Conduct daily cleaning verifications, report deviations and follow up with service providers.
Conduct, interpret and trend routine micro swabbing to verify cleaning efficacy, including allergen, micro and pathogen monitoring.
Prepare for and represent the site during external quality and food safety audits.
Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures for product and manufacturing processes.
Verify prerequisite programmes against customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Investigate customer complaints, process non -conformances and audit findings, and improve documented systems where required.
Monitor and improve controls to prevent physical, microbial and allergen cross -contamination.
Requirements
Relevant Food Technology, Food Science or quality -related qualification is required or preferred.
Food manufacturing, FMCG or meat processing quality experience is required.
Strong knowledge of food safety systems, quality assurance, audits and quality control checks is required.
Experience with micro, allergen and pathogen trending is advantageous.
Document control, internal audits, corrective actions and customer complaint investigation experience are required.
Must be able to work cross -functionally with production, maintenance, hygiene and management teams.
Strong reporting, investigation, trend analysis and root cause problem -solving skills are essential.
Must be able to commute reliably to Malmesbury or relocate at own cost.
